Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of “Golfing in Aether” by sole trader business “Vetron”. By accessing or using Golfing in Aether, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of the terms, then you may not access Golfing in Aether.

1. Access and Usage

You can access and use “Golfing in Aether” without creating an additional account or undergoing any account linking process.

On platforms that permit it, there is the option to link your account, if you desire, to maintain persistent player stats and friends list across platforms. However, cross-platform play, and functionality operates in full without the need for account linking.

Purchases are tied to the platform or store from which you made the purchase. We are unable to facilitate transfers or provide “keys” or any equivalent for other stores. This Terms of Service does not exempt you from any access or usage restrictions enforced by the store or platform from which you purchased the game.

2. Code of Conduct

You agree to adhere to the “Golfing in Aether” Code of Conduct, which governs your conduct within the game. This entails refraining from cheating, being offensive, and spamming the quick chat functionality.

2.1. Offensive

You are responsible for how you express yourself. While our titles do not utilize voice or text chat, this policy also extends to player names. We do not permit language that could be offensive or vulgar to others. A profanity check is in place to limit this.

Consequences:

  • Any attempts to repeatedly bypass profanity checks may result in account restrictions as deemed appropriate.
  • Severe instances such as hate speech and discriminatory language will be reported to the respective stores and platforms for their own moderation efforts.

2.2. Cheating

You are responsible for how you and your account are represented in the game world. Using cheat programs or modifying the game program in any way is strictly prohibited.

Consequences:

  • Engaging in cheating activities will result in account restrictions.
  • Reports may be shared with the specific account platform being played on, where a specific code of conduct policy covers this.

2.3. Spamming

While voice or text chat is not employed in our titles, excessively and repeatedly spamming the Quick Chat feature is not permitted.

Consequences:

  • Any attempts to repeatedly bypass existing game limits may lead to account restrictions as deemed appropriate.

2.4. Additional Notes:

  • Help us maintain a safe and welcoming environment by utilizing the in-game player report feature found in the social menu.
  • You can immediately self-moderate by adding a player to your block list to mute communication in general and keep them from joining your sessions.
  • Be sure to also read the code of conduct policy for the platform you are playing on.

3. Privacy

Please review our Privacy Policy, which outlines the full usage of your data.

3.1. Where are we based?

Vetron is based in the United Kingdom. We have distribution and service partners in various countries around the world. This privacy policy describes the different ways we (and do not) collect, use, and share information on, through, or in connection with providers we distribute and operate our games via.

3.2. What information do we collect?

We do not collect and store information ourselves or handle it in any way beyond operations specific to the in-game environment.  Any information we handle is only used to facilitate in-game operations and connections to various game services of the specific platform.  Some of the information we use for this process is outlined below:

  • Your unique account or platform identifier (for example, to handle basic platform or service operations).
  • Your current public display name (for example, for display in-game as part of your profile and for sharing to other users as part of a multiplayer session).
  • Language preferences (for example, so we know what localization to set in-game).
  • List of friends (for example, for handling invitations to an online session).
  • Your IP Address (for example, when specific to creating or joining online sessions).
  • Country (for example, for displaying offers in your specific currency and region).

3.3. How do we share this information?

Some information may be shared with other users or entities, this all done through the services and platforms we distribute the game on. This is just to facilitate in-game operations which we have given examples of below, at no point is this information via our own servers nor do we store or collect it anywhere ourselves.

  • With other users (for example, to facilitate gameplay such as creating and joining multiplayer sessions).
  • With console and platform partners (for example, to facilitate gameplay when you access services through a platform specific login).
  • Publicly (for example, your display name, basic game statistics such as leaderboard scores, and other similar information will generally accessible to others).

3.4. What about marketing?

We do not offer direct communications to users by for example a newsletter, so at no point will we ask you for your email address or other means of contacting you.  Any news or marketing activities relating to our games are published via social media platforms and the game store fronts themselves.

As outlined above we do not collect or store any personal information. This means we will not sell your information to third parties or use it as part of marketing activities.

For keeping track of how well our game is doing we rely on aggregate data depending on what each store front allows, such as for example what percentage of players have unlocked a specific achievement. This is not personally identifiable information and only contains overall figures from across the entire player base.

3.5. How do we handle child privacy?

The platforms we distribute our games on do not allow accounts to be created by persons under the age of 13. We do not store information of persons from any age group and this extends to children as well.

While our games may carry ratings suitable for ages 13 and under they are not directed or marketed at children.

3.6. Additional Notes & Updates

Our games and the related websites they are sold on may contain links to other sites; we are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such websites.

Vetron will occasionally update this Privacy Policy. When we do, we’ll change the date noted at the top of the policy. Please review this policy regularly to make sure that you understand your relationship with Vetron and the ways we may handle your information.

4. Governing Law

These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising under these terms and conditions shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
